The Band

leere (meaning 'emptiness' or 'space') was originally a collective of musicians (see below) who came together during the course of 2004 to work on the album 'Compassionate Ride'.

In the summer of 2005 leere gained a more distinct shape and feel. With Jon Priestley on guitar, Jack Gammon on drums and percussion Wayne Matthews on bass, Simon Monaghan on vocals and Tom Pearson engineering the sound, the band have been actively promoting the new album across the Coventry and Warwickshire area, and beginning to write fresh, laid back, acoustic melodies, that draw on rock/folk/bluegrass influences.

2005 culminated with an appearance for the band on the Anita Miah show (BBC Coventry and Warwickshire - 21/12/06) and an invitation to open the new BBC station in the centre of Coventry. leere, in conjunction with Wild Duck Productions, hope to release a single in May 2006 and to gig in the Midlands area.
