What Grows Of Me: Lyrics & Synopsis |
|
Lyrics
What grows of me can celebrate a better tasting living thing What grows of me can penetrate a beauty rich, an inner thing And to know me is not to show, not to show, not to show The fear that gets so out of hand sometimes To find me is now to see, now to see, now to see The hands that make the same blood flow The hands that make the same blood flow
And to know me is not to show, not to show, not to show The fear that gets so out of hand sometimes To find me is now to see, now to see, now to see The hands that make the same blood flow The hands that make the same blood flow
Synopsis
There was much amusement with this track as I kept referring to it as 'What Grows Of You' and Jon kept correcting me… that's how we stumbled upon the probable album title… the one source influencing the other seemed really appropriate… cause and effect and all that! The ukulele against the flowing acoustic guitar really works with the lyrics, and again the track seeks to depict an image of the eternal that has so often been at odds with the one set in the bloody history of some organized faith. We read that 'Jonah was extremely pleased with the plant that shaded him'…yet he still doesn't seem to get the principle that we can function as growing and evolving beings through fellowship and trust. No blood flows in the Book of Jonah… yet the later covenant will involve sacrifice!
