Lyrics
What's caused this storm What's caused this storm to start What's caused this storm What's caused this storm to start One sailor down And good fortune has smiled on us To save us from drowning

Synopsis
Despite being unsure whether this would ever make it onto the final album, Jon seized the moment in a single day's recording. He followed his penny whistle part with an array of rich backing vocal parts... which leant quite a haunting effect… and then we opted for a more processed sound on the lead vocal when it came to the mix. It immediately conveyed both the anxieties amidst the storm on board the ship leaving the port of Joppa, as well as the figure of Jonah in the hold of the ship… who has seemingly resigned himself to his fate. The text seems to suggest that there is a genuine comradeship among the sailors eager to prevent Jonah's demise… and that could make his later sense of isolation and loneliness even worse.
