The Pressure of the Sun: Lyrics & Synopsis |
|
Lyrics
I do so little
When I feel the pressure of the sun I do so little more And I do so little When I feel the pressure of the sun I do some little more
Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am
I say so little With your smile its all brought down to size And I do so little When I feel the pressure of the sun I do so little more
Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am
When I feel the pressure of the sun has made its mark for sure
Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am Peace make me who I am Please make me who I am Please… Peace Oh Yeah
Synopsis
Initially, I was thinking of the latter stages of the narrative with this track, where Jonah finds the shade to cool himself. I sensed that there was a real sympathy for the character that emanates from the text, like he is completely exhausted and in shock after showing the courage and the conviction that he earlier so lacked. And underlying everything he knows that his relationship with himself, and with others, can never be the same in the future because his journey has led him to a confrontation with the true nature of God - he is in fact confronted by a depth of compassion and love that he cannot wholly grasp. As an upbeat tune it suggests he’ll get used to all his discoveries in time!
