| Man Is Troubled By The Woman Every Day: Lyrics & Synopsis |
|
Lyrics He’s thought about studying time Cause he can’t make any less for her She reads each worrying sign Keeping every little thing to herself He’d vanish if he knew how But it’s the warm you miss A touch of the now And if she reads these worrying signs It could be crunch time How can he rest with her…. How can he fly Grips his mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day To miss the blessing…. And miss the smile, Come the days it rained Its fixed my mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day It’s a scene that could run its course In a flash she saw how love is a force He’s reading up on Venus and Mars Can he think of any other God but himself He’d vanish if he knew how…knew how But it’s the warmth you miss A touch of the now And if she reads these worrying signs It could be crunch time How can he rest with her How can he fly It grips his mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day To miss the blessing And miss the smile, Come the day it rained Its fixed my mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day Wait, Moment, Tire Moment, Wait, Tire Wait, Moment, Tire Moment, Wait, Tire It’s as simple as love is peace Simple as a love is peace How can he rest with her How can he fly It grips his mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day To miss the blessing And miss the smile On the days it rained Its fixed my mind to the point That man is troubled by the woman every day Woman, what d’you say What d’you say What d’you say Man is troubled by the woman in his way Synopsis Jon had worked on the music for this track a long time back and he suggested it as a potential song for the album towards the end of the recording sessions. It felt like a welcome excursion into a much more solid sound. By that time I was beginning to really stretch the narrative, thinking about why anyone might feel the need to run away from a given situation. That led me to think about how heavy the prospect of commitment can weigh on a person…and I sort of stumbled on the lyric when overhearing various conversations. I began to think… what if a woman was involved in Jonah's dash to 'find himself', I mean men can make such grand excuses! We knew immediately that this was the track to open the album… no question… it made all the right noises and it roots the narrative in relationship! |
